First you need to create your product in Shopify. This can either be a product with or without variations
It is important to make sure Track QTY is de-selected
For Shopify Products WITHOUT variations the following fields are mandatory to be completed within Metafields in the Product
Pixfizz integartion type (Product)
Pixfizz product SKU (Product)
The image below shows the fields available in Product metafields
For Shopify Products WITH variations the following fields are mandatory to be completed within Metafields
Pixfizz integration type (Product)
Pixfizz product SKU (Variation Metafield)
The difference between the setup of Product Variation and a Product is the pixfizz SKU code MUST go in the variation metafield
The image below shows the fields available in Variation metafields
The Pixfizz Integration Type determines how your product connects with the Pixfizz platform. There are three integration type options available and you would choose one of these 3 dependant upon the product you are connecting and the experience you want for the customer:
editor: This allows for the connection to go straight into the main pixfizz editor. An example of this would be to launch the editor for a photobook product.
options-to-cart: With this option a live preview editor will be launched. These could be used for notebooks.
options-to-editor: By using this option the user will end up in the main pixfizz editor, but they will first choose any options you have setup. An example maybe for a Calendar where the user would be asked for the start month/year.
Here is a brief overview of when to use each integration type:
Editor: Choose this if your goal is to provide direct access to the main Pixfizz editor, ideal for products like photobooks where extensive customization is expected.
Options-to-Cart: Opt for this if you want the customer to see a live preview of the product before adding it to the cart, suitable for items like notebooks where the final appearance is crucial.
Options-to-Editor: Select this if you prefer the customer to make initial selections (e.g., start month/year for a calendar) before accessing the main editor for further customization.
The Pixfizz static product code is a unique identifier for products that do not require user edits or modifications, such as ready-made goods with fixed specifications. This code becomes crucial in scenarios where you need to ensure proper tracking and management of such non-editable items within the Pixfizz platform. It ensures these products appear accurately in the Pixfizz admin interface, especially important for communication with fulfillment houses responsible for processing and delivering these items, as they need to know the predefined options associated with each order.
Pixfizz adjust cart QTY is used to disable the ability for a customer to update the qty of the item in the shopping cart. The main use of this is for Photo Print products. Customers should not be allowed to change QTY in Carts for these types of items. To disable the updating of cart QTY set this to "true"
To enable this feature, set the Pixfizz adjust cart QTY property to false. This ensures that once a customer selects the quantity, they cannot alter it during checkout, maintaining consistency in order processing.
For products without Shopify variations, it's important to input the Pixfizz product SKU accurately. Ensure that the SKU:
Is entered correctly without any typos.
Contains no spaces.
This step is crucial to link Shopify with the correct product in Pixfizz.
This will be used for Photo books. A requirement is that you have added a product which is appicable for the extra price of a page in a photobook - Please note that Pixfizz will add 2 or multiples of 2 Pages at a time - as set by the template definition in Pixfizz. The pricing in shopify is per Page.
you do not need an image in the products setup for extra pages - you just need separate products if you want different pricing
To connect Extra Page pricing to a Photo book - find the metafield shown below
When you click in the box a modal will appear. here you can search for the product that you setup to add extra pages pricing
Another Modal will appear
Search for the product, select and click on add
Where extra pricing is added to products we recommend turning off the showing of pricing in the editor. This can be done in the Design Tool configuration in Pixfizz.
