# Ship Desk and Shipping

The ship desk is where you manage orders that are ready to be shipped or picked up. It integrates with EasyPost for shipping label generation and tracking.

***

### Overview

Once all jobs in an order are marked as **Completed** on the production board, the order moves to the ship desk. From here you can:

* Generate shipping labels
* Notify customers that their order is ready for pickup
* Track shipments
* Manage return labels for mail-in services

***

### Ship Desk Views

The ship desk can be configured to show:

* **Shipping orders only** — orders that need to be shipped to the customer
* **Pickup orders only** — orders marked for in-store collection
* **Both** — all completed orders regardless of delivery method

Configure this in your ship desk settings.

#### Shipping orders

For orders that need shipping, you will see a **Ship** button. Clicking this generates a shipping label via EasyPost and updates the order status to Shipped. The tracking number is written back to the Pixfizz order automatically (via the `tracking` custom field).

#### Pickup orders

For pickup orders, you can **notify the customer** that their order is ready for collection. Once they collect it, mark the order as picked up to complete it.

### EasyPost Integration

OrderHub integrates with EasyPost for shipping. Configure your EasyPost account in **Settings > Shipping**.

EasyPost supports a wide range of carriers. Once connected, you can generate labels and track shipments directly from OrderHub.

#### Prepaid Return Labels

A particularly useful feature for film processing and mail-in services: you can generate prepaid return labels so customers can ship items to you without paying for postage upfront.

This is configured as an automation (**Settings > Automations > Send Return Label**). When triggered, it generates a prepaid label via EasyPost and sends it to the customer.

### Tracking

When a shipping label is generated, the tracking number is:

1. Stored in OrderHub
2. Written back to the Pixfizz order (via the `tracking` custom field)
3. Included in the customer notification email (if enabled)

***

### Tips

* Set up the `tracking` custom field in Pixfizz admin as **public** so customers can see their tracking number on their order status page.
* For labs that handle both pickup and shipping, showing both on the ship desk gives a complete view of what is ready to go out.
* Prepaid return labels are a strong selling point for film processing services — customers can mail in film without arranging their own postage.
