# Managing Orders

This article covers how orders appear in OrderHub, how to view and manage them, and how to create custom orders directly.

***

### Orders and Jobs

In OrderHub, an **order** is the top-level container. Each order contains one or more **jobs**. A job is equivalent to an order line or line item in Pixfizz Core.

For example, if a customer orders 4x6 prints and a metal print in a single checkout, that creates one order with two jobs.

***

### How Orders Arrive

Orders enter OrderHub in three ways:

1. **From your Pixfizz storefront** — via webhook, typically within seconds of the customer placing the order.
2. **Created directly in OrderHub** — custom orders entered manually (see below).
3. **Via XML import** — using OrderHub Desktop to import PF or ROES-format order files.

### Viewing an Order

Go to **Orders** in the main navigation to see your full order list.

Each order shows:

* Order ID
* Customer name
* Source (which brand or store it came from)
* Status (new, in production, completed, shipped)
* Rush flag (if applicable)
* Number of jobs
* Payment method and amounts

Click into an order to see:

* All jobs with their individual statuses
* Product details, quantities, and options
* Customer details and delivery method
* Timeline of status changes
* Notes and tags

### Creating Custom Orders

You can create orders directly in OrderHub without them going through a Pixfizz storefront. This is useful for walk-in customers, phone orders, or services that do not have a storefront flow.

1. Go to **Orders > New Order**
2. Select the **brand** (if you have multiple connected)
3. Browse or search the product catalog — this pulls directly from your Pixfizz product database with the same pricing, variants, and options
4. Select product, size, quantity, paper options, etc.
5. Add the customer (search existing or create new)
6. Choose delivery method (pickup or ship) and pickup location if applicable
7. Add any custom notes
8. Place the order

**Billing note:** Custom orders created directly in OrderHub are not charged Pixfizz transaction fees. You are only charged transaction fees for orders that go through the Pixfizz checkout with card payment.

You can also add jobs to an existing order after it has been placed.

### Cancelling and Adding Jobs

* **Cancel a job:** You can cancel individual jobs within an order from the order detail view. The rest of the order continues as normal.
* **Add a job:** You can add products to an existing order after it has been placed. The new job appears on the production board alongside the original jobs.

### Order Tags

Tags let you categorize orders for targeted follow-up. Go to **Settings > Tags** to create your tag set.

Example tags: "Wedding", "Memorial", "Family", "Commercial".

Tags can be applied from the order detail view. They are particularly useful for film scan and file upload orders where you can identify the content type and use it to suggest relevant products to the customer.

### Tips

* The webhook from Pixfizz is fast — if an order does not appear within a few seconds, check the webhook configuration.
* Use tags on film scan and file upload orders to drive targeted product recommendations.
* Custom orders are a good way to handle walk-in business while keeping everything in one production queue.
* The order list can be filtered by status, source, and date range.
