# File Uploads

File uploads work similarly to film scans but are designed for any service where you need to receive and deliver digital files — restoration, archiving, video transfer, or any other file-based service.

### Overview

The file upload workflow handles:

* Receiving files from customers or uploading completed work
* Associating uploaded files with orders
* Delivering completed files to customers via a branded download page

### Supported File Types

File uploads accept virtually any file type, including:

* Images (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc.)
* Video files
* Document files
* Archive files

There is no practical file size limit. Files up to 3 GB and beyond have been tested successfully.

### How It Works

The process is the same as film scans:

1. Files are uploaded to OrderHub (manually via drag-and-drop or automatically via Desktop watched folders)
2. Files are associated with the customer's order
3. The customer receives an email with a branded download link
4. The customer can download files individually or as a ZIP

### Use Cases

* **Photo restoration** — receive original scans, deliver restored versions
* **Photo archiving** — scan and digitize physical albums, deliver digital files
* **Video transfer** — convert VHS, 8mm, or other analog formats, deliver digital files
* **Design services** — deliver custom design work

### Tips

* The same tagging system works for file uploads — tag orders by type (wedding, memorial, commercial) to drive targeted product recommendations.
* File uploads and film scans are separate sections in OrderHub but share the same underlying delivery infrastructure.
* Custom domains and branding apply to file upload download pages as well.
